What fuel stops have you experienced personally? 3x, all due to stronger-than-usual headwinds
- 1996, Delta 727-200 CVG-PDX-SEA, announced a fuel stop at SLC; I knew there was a nonstop SLC-SEA because the CVG-SLC departing 15 min later got there about 2 minutes short of a legal connection
- 1997, Continental 737-300 EWR-SEA, announced a fuel stop at MSP; there was a 757 departing about two hours later, so I asked the GA about a bump to that flight ... he gave me a voucher for $250 and a BP for 3D, got to SEA maybe 20 min behind the 733
- 2017, Alaska Airlines E75 DAL-SEA, refueled at SLC
Were you permitted to leave the plane? I spoke with the GA at CVG, who spoke with the flight crew, who agreed to let me off ... the GA then confirmed me on the SLC-SEA nonstop, so I wound up getting home at around the originally planned time
Did you take on any additional passengers during the fuel stop? no
