I found on some airports you have to acknowledge your presence at the boarding desk 😅 and then it works smoothly.
So what if they call HON to board first if there is already line formed. I personally find it rude to move myself to the front just because I am “entitled to”.

From recent experience: in FCO there are two lines, Economy and Priority.
But then one employee is present and checking tickets. Then shifting people around to speed up boarding.
When that person came to me and saw my ticket, I was asked to follow to the beginning of the line via side entrance.
So I guess everyone was happy.
