Aegean has never taken Gatwick seriously. They're forever chopping and changing it. Some days in some weeks they fly and then out of the blue it can disappear. They promised a daily schedule for next summer... but now that's gone. They could even connect SKG with LGW to offer at least one direct connection with London from there like Olympic used to do. Agreed, SKG is served from almost every other major European city but not London. Although A3 now seem to offer ATH connections to a few UK airports there remains nothing to SKG which is a pity. Of course many of the ATH connections are summer only and operate during the night so not really sensible for business but a SKG-LGW service at least daily year round would surely fill.
I'm not even sure how much transfer traffic A3 pick up at LHR, it can only be from AC and UA and then probably not much so why don't they just move to LGW in total, have lower operating costs and be done with it. The only thing I would like better would be a sensibly timed, daily ATH-DUB service.
