So this hotel has finally completed their Ground floor renovations (Lobby, Main Restaurant). Would normally stay more often, but looked for alternatives as the drop off / pick up was much too troublesome during the renovation period (they selected a back entrance next to a school).
Didn't realize that the rooms were going to be refurbished as well, only found out when trying to check in and the tower where the Executive Lounge is was completely closed. So the only rooms are now in the "old" tower, although decor is the same. Executive Lounge is now in the Lobby to the left of reception, strangely no signage of any kind. Hours are the same, with Breakfast and Cocktail Hour still running. Happy to say they've reintroduced allowing Room Service to be served in the Exec Lounge, so pairing a steak (RM90) with some "free" wine is a plus for me
Proactively upgraded to a Suite. A rare occurrence here, and the Suites in the "new tower" were just 1 big room in my experince. So this stay was my 1st time staying in the "old" tower and didn't know they had Suites with separate living and bedroom. Was told that non of the rooms in the old tower had bathtubs. I would say the hardware of the room was still acceptable, but there was definitely a stale smell which the hotel is trying to mask with fragrances.
Even with the nice lounge offerings, I'm not sure if I'll return until the new rooms are ready.
