That's a good point about the first 3 rows often being assigned to others vs the exit rows. The exit rows seem to be the last to be filled.

That being said, row 1 is nice as you can get a window and be able to use lavatory without asking people to get up. I do feel a little less comfortable in row 1 bc of the bulkhead as I haven more room when I can stretch my feet under the seat in the exit row or 2-3. Taller people might not have this issue with he first row. I noticed my friend who is 6'2" couldn't put his legs under the regular seat like I can bring being 7" shorter so bulkhead may be the same or more leg room.
