Also, as those of us in Alaska know, we are hub captive here. Forgive me as this sounds more sarcastic than I intend: do you consider the 1x daily seasonal flight on Delta that doesn’t restart until June to be a reliable alternate to Alaska?
yeah, it sucks hard for us in Juneau since we don't get to see Delta until June, but I'm flying them today to Anchorage.
I mean, for years we got booted out of Row 4 and put in middles or non-premium seats (myself included) when a -900 would get swapped for a -800; or to a -400. But even then, we didn't get anything. Reports of people getting $200 or 5,000 miles, sometimes 10k, seem to liter Flyertalk. But as a frequent Alaska -> Hawai'i & Florida flyer, I learned very FAST to avoid row 4 or be ready to get downgraded to Y. Sadly, this happened to me twice when on a paid first class ticket, and was only given $125 in credits.
