160 dB can cause instant permanent hearing damage. Think putting your ear next to a shotgun.
OSHA limits are time weighted. 85 dB over 8 hrs; 95 dB is limited to 4 hrs, etc.
But in regards to the OP- I find the Embraers have unreasonably loud announcements compared to the 737. My understanding is that this isn’t adjustable by the crew, but instead is a maintenance action.
