I'm shocked that people are shocked that fares tend to be higher/more variable around holiday periods when people have time off from work (and it's summer in southern hemisphere). Also, cheapest fares (SLX5ISO2/WLX5ISO2) to Australia have 50 day APs and are seasonally restricted (not available from Dec 6th to Jan 7th).
