The person who I suspect would be interested in investigating this would be Martin Lewis here in the U.K. but it’s possibly not a pressing enough issue for him considering other economic issues people are facing. He led other campaigns such as mis-sold PPI.
You're right, I'm guessing some things are more pressing, but he may well have contacts or some up and coming journos who would welcome an in. He appears, from his Twitter your shared, to have a kid called Sapphire, so he may well be a silver card holder
