Elevator Enthusiast, I just checked out of room 1913. Bed still had a little bit of your body heat left when I arrived. The room is fine, but I will say that I'm not a fan of the roof directly above, which limits the view (clearly visible from your pictures). I think I'd prefer the same room on the 18th floor. The app had shown various upgrades, corner rooms and maybe even a Regency Suite at some point, but I guess it's better to have the view over a larger room on a lower floor.

I'm not a fan of the hotel. Now, having a sub-20k yen option in the greater Tokyo area is appreciated, but I was severely underwhelmed with the club lounge. Evening happy hour has some fried items (shrimp last night, onion rings tonight), some salads and nibbles. Bottles of cheap alcohol for self-pour. Breakfast (lounge only) is ghastly, with french fries (?!), watery scrambled eggs, awful bread (airplane quality), minestrone, salad stuff, and terrible canned fruit. You normally have to stay at something several notches below the HR to find pineapple like this. Asked for a late check-out, and was told, 4pm is all they can do. When I gave them a sad look, they offered 5pm, but not without reminding me that they usually charge for late check-outs. Important to remind oneself that this is Japan in these scenarios, they follow rules, so don't expect waivers and favors.

I spent a couple dozen nights at Sheraton Yokohama (right next to Yokohama station) prior to Covid, and I think it's an adequate base for venturing into Tokyo. If you stay in Ikebukuro or Shinjuku, it takes a while to get to Ginza (and vice versa), so 30 minutes or so from Yokohama isn't a big deal (especially when paying for Green car in rush hour). The Hyatt is another 10 minute (or so) ride from Yokohama station, and feels like it's deep in Yokohama. It's in a very pleasant area with lots to do (and very beautiful during Sakura and fall colors), but doesn't feel like a base for Tokyo to me.
