The only worthwhile wine to buy in either place is stuff that is not readily exported and/or not available in your humble hamlet back home. The only wine I ever bring home from either place is wine that I really like and not generally exported, or if I've got a bottle that I didn't consume, there's room in my luggage, and the warmer months of the year will affect the wine before my next visit (where indoor temps with the A/C off are stifling. Even my granulated garlic darkens from "cooking" in the cabinet.) I'm not going to get into a debate over which side of the Cordillera produces a superior product, because I've had everything from swill gutrot to outstanding on both sides, and a multitude of price points. But if you must, you can currently get a 1.5L box of Gato Blanco at Jumbo for about US$5. Enjoy! https://www.jumbo.cl/vino-blanco-gato-blanco-15-l/p
