There was a schedule change on my AKL-LAX-SFO ticket and now the LAX connection is 1 hr 35 min. The AA system seemed to be fine with it and this itinerary is still sold normally on the website.
I contacted the website chat. At first the agent looked at my reservation and replied that "there is more than enough time for the connection and the schedule change is only 30 minutes". I pushed back and said the int'l-to-dom MCT at LAX should be 2 hrs. He then went back and reissued the ticket with the 5 hr connection I selected. This whole process took quite a while because the agent was very slow to respond.
A few less important details:
1. Now my booking class is boosted from N to M and there is a lot more AS miles for me to collect.
2. For some reason he bumped me from my MCE seats to seemingly random MC seats including the AKL-LAX leg that is supposedly untouched. I had to re-select MCE seats afterwards.
3. Also my FFN on the reservation was changed from AS to AA. Had to contact another chat to get this fixed.
