It's definetely easy to find pockets of quiet in Tokyo, but even the supposed "tourist" spots around Sapporo were mostly empty.

I'm sure this changes during peak season, such as the snow festival, but it was nice to experience the calmer side of Japanese life.

Also, as mentioned above, the food in Hokkaido is spectacular. What impressed me the most was the dairy products. I know it's well reported that Hokkaido milk is some of the best, but it honestly impressed me more than the seafood.

Ate the Hokkaido cheesecake at the Park Hyatt Niseko and all other cheesecake has now been ruined for me
