The middle seats are perfectly aligned, while the window seats are a bit off set, the aisle seat is a bit further back. But as long as the partion is not raised communication is reasonably OK in either. The A side should be the sunny side, but I never really looked what extent the Boston flight gets sun, or flies in night zones.

Views of Mt Fuji are tricky when landing in Narita. It is pretty far away. Though the A side is probably your best chance. Landing on 34L/R will have Fuji on the A side. Landing on 16R/L will usually have Fuji on the a side with a 180 degree turn having Fuji on the K side for short final. Though I will add that there are probably more landings in Narita not seeing Fuji at all due to clouds.
