Out of curiosity, what was this “standby line” and how long did your wife have to wait in it prior to boarding?

If I were in the same position and didn’t have a cruise to catch, I would probably argue that the CoC does not require me to wait in a “standby line” and demand to either receive a seat or be denied check-in.
