If you have paid £7k for a J Class flight you are very unlikely to get downgraded, where as someone in the same cabin who has paid £2k for a I Class special is more likely to, that being said exec status also comes into it as i've not heard of a Gold member being downgraded where as people without memberships often do.
A cruise specialist or whoever have 0 control over who gets moved around on a plane, once issued the flights are in the hands of the B.A gophers and you just have to hope for the best

No, there is a special flag on tickets for cruise customers, and particularly Cunard customers simply don't get downgraded or offloaded (for historical reasons). Other cruise travel agencies have a privileged role in the booking hierarchy. The cheapest of cheap tickets can sometimes be Marine endorsed - for maritime employed travellers as we now have to call them - tickets - I think they would offload CWS if they had no other choice.
