If you can't live without alcohol for a few hours, sure, fly someone else and visit AA when you get to your destination.
Did you have J for TUN-JED? THat is in a A330-300 and the configurations are so different. I had a totally worn out 2-2-2 seater that reclined maybe 30%. Another somewhat less worn out 2-2-2 seater that reclined a bit more. And then, surprise, 2 days ago a fully flat configuration (still 2-2-2). None of these seats felt cramped though. For BKK-JED I had a similar good experience, the hard product on their 787s is state of the art.
