im afraid to say thats all incorrect (minus the part about the 24/7 helplines), as the person before you had mentioned there are lots of factors that go into who gets offloaded / downgraded but the largest is revenue. If you have paid £7k for a J Class flight you are very unlikely to get downgraded, where as someone in the same cabin who has paid £2k for a I Class special is more likely to, that being said exec status also comes into it as i've not heard of a Gold member being downgraded where as people without memberships often do.
A cruise specialist or whoever have 0 control over who gets moved around on a plane, once issued the flights are in the hands of the B.A gophers and you just have to hope for the best
