I think there are quite a few airspaces that BA are avoiding based on the route followed on my recent SIN flight. Certainly Afghanistan seems to be also being bypassed.
Flying DOH to SIN earlier this year I distinctly noticed we were flying over Afghanistan. I took a picture of the flight map at the time as I was surprised.
Maybe fellow arab carriers are less risk averse than western carriers?
