Searched the forums and resources online and it seems like Cathay will still interline baggage to JAL on a separate booking. Wanted to see if anyone can confirm or think differently on this itinerary?

Booked on Alaska operated by CX: HKG-HND in Y
Booked on Alaska operated by JAL: HND-LAX in J

2.5 hour layover, think with interline baggage + CX checking me into the JAL flight I should be able to make it on time.

For baggage allowance I have OW Sapphire from another airline - can I swap my loyalty number for CX to take advantage of the extra baggage allowance even though it's a redemption from Alaska?
