Lately it seems that the airport staff don't quite get to do anything, not sure why. At Paine Field, the gate agents straight up just have you call Reservations instead when any issues occur. At Sea-Tac, my experience has been that the agents at the landside check-in counters seem to be more helpful than the agents at the airside customer service centers, not sure why.
