U.S. Senator Charles Schumer yesterday said he has "good vibes" about the possibility of bringing JetBlue to Stewart Airport at Newburgh. Schumer has been in the lead with regard to attracting new service including Independence Air last fall.
Schumer suggested there is a good possibility of JetBlue coming to Newburgh. He said he has been lobbying JetBlue and is encouraged about the possibilities for the Hudson Valley airport. "We have had meetings; nothing is a done deal yet but we're getting good vibes," he said.
JetBlue will be taking delivery of the new breed of smaller regional jets and Schumer has been lobbying the airline to use those planes to serve markets like the Hudson Valley.
Is Schumer starting to get on anyone else's nerves. Thanks to the guy for helping Jetblue to get started, but this ridiculous. Every city in New York state, he wants Jetblue to fly out of it. IMO, there are just a couple cities that are a little bit higher up then Newburgh.
You probably won't hear anything for real about the 190's until late July. My guess for its first city is Richmond or Norfolk.
