I flew AF in PE SFO-CDG-BOM-CDG-SFO twice this year and hated the shell seats for comfort. Tried KLM SFO-BOM-SFO last two weeks and loved the PE seats on the 787.

Minor issue is that I couldnt figure out how to connect my headset. The socket is in a well next to your hip and the overhead light does not illuminate this area. The plug on the headset has three magnets and three posts in a triangular orientation and the magnets would latch to the magnets on the socket even if the posts were not in the holes.

There is no video help screen or seatback literature illustrating the correct orientation. Trying to take a picture with my phone resulted in an out-of-focus video. I didnt want to risk being accused of harassment or flirting with my seatmate by asking her to help me plug in.

I finally got out of my seat, knelt down, and figured it out. I first verified that my seatmate was not wearing a skirt or dress.

Dont know if this arrangement was meant to be a sobriety test or an intelligence test or a dexterity test or just a way to shame the noobs!
