If it wasn't for post-COVID splurges, FC may well have diminished even further. KL hasn't offered FC anywhere in at least a couple of decades. CX seems to have sent its newest a/c A350s, to YYZ none of which are configured for FC. Even the largest FC cabin on any CX a/c is now a 6P 77W (which do not go to YVR). I see that LH has reduced winter service to at least YYZ and YVR with 789s and no FC.
Canada is not a premium-rich market. If it means occasional good deals in J...al the better for us I think.
But again.. no one if 'competing' for a non-existing market here.
Not non-existent, just very limited. I am sure BA and LH could, if they had the equipment, offer a 4-seat FC product to Canada (as LX probably does) since any more capacity will likely be either award, UG or non-rev. Since BA doesn't have a small FC cabin, YVR currently gets 351s with no FC, and YYZ gets 777s with none either.
Agreed that it's better for us. The deals have shrunk, except for this one.
What I'd wish for is D7 to operate to Canada. I rather like the premium flat bed (old-style flat-at-an-angle seats with otherwise LCC service) for the price (paid ~C1k for KUL-HNL O/W).
