RTW for Steak Frites?

The first class "escorts" took us to the lounge in terminal A. If I had more time, I could have gone to the B lounge or exited and checked in through the dedicated first-class terminal which would have meant a limo transfer on the tarmac, but as I was leaving from a nearby A gate, I decided to stay put.

The lounge was well-appointed and not crowded at all. I settled down in a corner lounger with great views for anyone who loves spotting. Although they had both a buffet and a-la-carte dining options available, I wasn't really hungry so I just stuck with having some water and champagne.

About 20 min before boarding, I made my way over to gate A64 for yet another on-time boarding and departure. I was in 2F as I figured for such a short flight, I should definitely enjoy the scenery.

If you've flown Euro Business before, you know it's basically economy with a blocked middle seat. What I did learn on this trip is that if you are flying in F on any other attached segment, they will block the other seat for you. I basically had entire row to myself and no one was in row one either, only 3 rows of "business" on this flight.

Nothing crazy with this flight. The in-flight team was able to supply a lovely cheesecake for the short 50 min flight to CDG.

Having cleared customs in FRA, we landed and I was the first off to make my way over to the only hotel I booked for the trip. I decided on the Residence Inn which was a short tram ride and walk, the whole thing took maybe 5 min. The hotel itself is brand new and the basic room I booked had a full kitchenette and is very comfortable for a short layover.

I had gone back-n-forth between staying back at the hotel or going into the city, and ultimately, I grabbed an Uber and headed to a restaurant my friend Paul recommended. It was about a 10 min wait to get seated at L'entrecôte right on the Champs-Elysées, but it was definitely worth the wait! Wonderful steak frites and a delicious glass of Bordeaux to pair with it.

After wrapping dinner, I stretched the legs a bit and walked down towards the Eiffel Tower before the phone ran out of juice and I hopped in a taxi and made my way back to the hotel.

Rinse and repeat tomorrow morning for an early flight to DOH in QSuites!
