For me at a minimum I would like 2 per year as the only reason I keep Globalist is to have 1-2 nice family vacations per year. There are other vacations of course, like Dallas or SoCal where we travel to, but they’re not really “destinations” for us. I’d use my Suite Awards either when traveling internationally or somewhere domestically like NYC.
There are some properties that simply refuse to upgrade even when it’s available. Knowing this ahead of time based on reviews here on FT or past visits we will use a Suite Award at them. Either that or they just have low standard suite inventory to begin with so it’s good to book ahead of time.
Even though you say you’d use them scarcely, it’s hard to believe you’d value $15 over at least having it in your inventory for a potential stay worldwide. I say $15 as that’s 1.5 cents per point which what most people here would put their value on points at.
This is coming from someone who’s let 2 expire in 2023 and likely another 2 in 2024.
1.5c is ridiculously low. I've never once redeemed at below 2c and lately it's been closer to 3. But that's not my point.
My point is that I value SUAs at 0. I'll take anything for them. I'd trade for a decent cup of coffee if I could.
