2) Sapphire Reserve's $0.015 travel redemption rate is only relevant if willing to book through Chase's portal which has a mediocre reputation. Sapphire Preferred offers a $0.0125 rate. One needs to redeem at least 62,000 points/year through the portal to breakeven paying for Sapphire Reserve vs Preferred,
