Why is there no food or drink on domestic flights?

I’ve taken a few domestic flights recently and I’m quite culture shocked by the experience. A lot of domestic flights don’t offer F, which does have a comprehensive meal service, so flights without have no food whatsoever, free or paid. In business you can have a cup of juice. Domestic lounges, other than F lounges which can be accessed by OWE members, have no food at all either. Post-security most airports don’t really sell food either. JAL suggests arriving at some airports two hours before departure, and with some domestic flights taking three hours or more, I don’t understand why they don’t at least sell some food and drink? One recent flight they spent half of it walking up and down trying to sell calendars. So it’s not an issue of space or lack of payment possibility!
