Unfortunately our return to LGW is not until after 11pm and the only bus to lhr is at 1130pm with the next at 330am
we have a bed in the sofitel T5 as our flight back to Belfast is at 645 am

So is a car service the only option or best option for that and which one do you recommend and what cost

Thank you
Unfortunately there is no easy option by public transport. If it's on a Friday night, you could take a Thameslink train to St Pancras and then the Piccadilly line - the former runs through the night every day except Saturday night, and the latter has a Night Tube service on Friday & Saturday nights. However, this would be a very slow option as Thameslink services are booked to run via Redhill overnight and the Piccadilly line takes around an hour from St Pancras to Heathrow.

Otherwise a pre-booked taxi is probably your best bet. An Uber may be cheaper on the day but you may struggle to get one - that was my experience when trying to get one on a Sunday night (well, technically Monday morning) at around 1am.
