Over the last few months I’ve been coming across an annoying issue with the Hyatt.com award search. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Sometimes when I visit a city like London or New York I will know that I’ll want to book on points. I select that in the search and get a list of hotels, along with how much they cost per night (starting from) on points.

I remember a couple of years ago I’d sometimes click through SLH properties to be met with the error “we don’t have points availability for that date”, but now I’m getting it very frequently for Hyatt properties whenever I search (e.g. London for this weekend).

If I want to see for example all the points availability for Friday and Saturday, I have to go into each individual hotel three times (Friday, Saturday, Friday to Sunday) to see if there actually is points availability or not. For this weekend all properties with space show “From xxx points”, but very few have actual availability. Slightly oddly I eventually found that the Hyatt Place East has availability on Saturday but not Friday night, but will let me book Friday to Sunday night on points, so I’m currently booked there.

I don’t think this is an issue with standard rooms not being offered, but more about the search not working which as far as I can remember is relatively new as I don’t recall having the issue before outside of SLH hotels.
