Thanks everyone. I only found out about the duty free stuff once they were in the air from BZE. To be safe they did stick in their checked bags and breezed through CBP and TSA. Global Entry is a blessing.

Side note, what scared me was in YUL coming back from Europe on AC the bags were screen on video so people never had access to them and even though we had been escorted from the AC flight to CPB and on to the next flight they still re-screened all of us and those with duty free had it taken away...makes me glad I am not a duty free guy.....
