At YYZ it was just a kiosk that took a picture with signs saying not to touch anything. Then I was referred to a CBP officer who took my pic and asked me how long I’d been in Canada and what I did while I was there and if I’d only been in Canada or if I was transiting after flying in from a third country. Then asked me if I had anything I’m bringing with me to declare. Also asked me if I spoke Arabic purely based on my place of birth.
I have to say I’m not a fan of going through GE at a preclearance facility.
