I think the assumption is that you would have travelled from airport to home even if the trip were not delayed. Did you incur any additional cost?
I was going to be picked up, but the delay made me arrive the next day during work hours, so I had to take a cab home. Not really a big deal, but it seems like it should be eligible as a "reasonable cost."
