Just to update on this- she just went into MMB vis the website to change her seat to one of the empty seats in economy and it won't let her change her seat from 8D.

Very strange.
as I mentioned in post 9 there have been previous reports of people getting stuck like this when they play curtain roulette as the app continues to show them in their old seat and the cannot select themselves to move themselves. I may not have been clear that could be in MMB too
