I get that it’s sometime inevitable that there will be two wide bodies boarding side by side at the same time, such as when YVR, YEG, YYC flights all depart around the same time, or in the late afternoon and evening in the international gates, but I really can’t think of any reasons to do that around noon in the E gates. Even back in 2019 it was possible to spread the flights across different piers.
It’s really difficult to do boarding, let alone zone boarding, when there are 600 people in the space designed for maybe 200 people max.
