Recent Stays

I have stayed three times at the resort, with my most recent experience earlier this month. The service, the food, and the accommodations remain top notch and the best on the island.

During my first 2 visits, I received a monogrammed.beach bag. That wasn't the case on the 3rd visit.

On the most recent visit, they did change the complimentary breakfast around by aplitting the menu into two, with one half complimentary and the other half offered at crazy high prices. I still had delicious breakfast and my choices remained on the free side but I dont understand their logic for this change.

They have also made tweaks to their dinner menus, all based on guest feedback...and I see this as a positive.

Rumors about staff leaving in droves is just that. In terms of customer facing departures, I know of two. The assistant manager for Moana bailed to be a hostess for Lava Lava Beach club not long after the opening and they just parted ways with their chef at Cookhouse. Other than those 2, the front desk staff, restaurant managers, waitstaff, sommeliers, pool staff, activities staff, bar staff, and spa crew are all the same .

They are hiring foreign workers under visa programs but that is true of every Hawaii resort. There is a labor crisis in Hawaii made worse by an even larger affordable housing crisis. So of course resorts are looking beyond the US to fill roles, especially for kitchen/back of the house roles. As occupancy creeps up, it makes sense Rosewood needs to get creative to staff up too.

The resort just kicked off their new Wednesday night luaus in addition to their elevated Paniolo Nights on Thursdays. Both are epic fests with incredible foods and open bar of premium cocktails and wines.

I am a critical frequent traveler so if something was wrong about the resort I'd let people know about it. While there are still some things that need tweaking it is still an amazing place with great staff.
