Since this should generate an automated email incident number which should keep the insurance company happy. Take plenty of screen shots. It's counter intuitive but it is best putting luggage into the overhead on the opposite side of the aisle.
Thanks c-w-s. He has also reported it to the police and has a crime number but his insurance still want a BA number so I’ll get him to follow your advice. Cheers
