Not necessarily a 'zone' issue, but my last 2 flights (last week - Thurs/Fri) - no 'your flight is now boarding' SMS or e-mail. Kind of annoying as that's usually my trigger to leave the lounge as despite I'm Zone 1, I don't want to get there and find that they haven't started boarding the 777 and I'm now standing in a sea of 400 people all cramming the gate area like they might not get on.
Anyone else have this issue?
I’ve been leaving the lounge to arrive at the gate exactly at posted boarding time (as long as inbound aircraft was on time) and often get the text as they’re scanning my bp. If it was a closer gate I’d probably wait for the text in the cafe, but bin space in J is still an issue on the older narrow bodies. A recent 319 flight to YHZ had j bins full after 3 pax boarded (equipment & 3 or 4 crew bags).
