You would be earning Silver for the 2024 status year by completing the $818 MQD this year (you would have Silver status through Jan 2025). As noted above, the extra $2.9K MQD you would give you a signficant leg up on obtaining Silver for the 2025 status year (rather than having to start with just the $2.5K MQD from the DL Plat Amex card) and you would not have any gaps in your status.
