IIRC we were in a compact car so I don't think it's necessary. Unless you plan on going on any portions that might be off-road or rough terrain (if there are any). We stayed on the main road and it was fine. Its just very windy so you may want motion sickness meds if you're prone to that. This was probably 10 or more years ago so not such what, if any, has changed
