Can I get free bag traveling Economy basic on the ZRH to IAD return? Flight is UA 53, also is confirmed under a United booking reference number.
Is your ticket Economy Basic or Economy Light? (the latter being equivalent to UA's Basic Economy and the latter the equivalent of UA regular economy)

When checking bags with UA, you will get your Silver bag waiver. With LH or LX, you will not.

What I find odd is if ticketed by LX (724 ticket stock why is the LH operated flight a UA codeshare share. Understand the return being LH codeshare of UA flight, but why is LHG carrier using UA codeshares of LHG flights?
