Reward Trip cancelled after physical check in + points returned
We checked into a hotel in Austria using reward points for 2 nights. Checking email later. I saw that the reservation was cancelled, we were already in the room and upgraded as a titanium elite.
The next day, the points were returned. Customer service contacted the hotel and they said all is good. I confirmed upon checkout that the stay was paid with points.
I expect the points will eventually be deducted, and someone made a mistake along the way. What if I use up these points now, will my point balance be negative? Planning to book a stay today that will put me about -8000 in total.
