During my 4⅔ years (1986-90) living in the Haight, Golden Gate Park was my "back yard". I felt and would still feel safe jogging or walking along John F. Kennedy Drive after dark.

If I were not a young man in my late 20s or early 30s, today I might not venture onto some of the more remote paths and trails I used to take.
