Calculating earnings with different "class" and "fare"
I have an upcoming booking on AA ticket stock that has the following flights which I am a bit confused as to how to calculate earnings:
My ticket receipt shows:
LAX-HEL, marketed AA, operated AY, class I, fare basis INN0C0S3
HEL-GVA, marketed AY, operated AY, class Y, fare basis INN0C0S3
ZRH-LHR, marketed AA, operated BA, class J, fare basis INN0C0S3
LHR-LAX, marketed AA, operated BA, class I, fare basis INN0C0S3
1. I understand credit is based on the operating carrier for AS. This was confirmed multiple times with multiple reps, even though supposedly OneWorld says credit is by marketing carrier. One agent said how to determine is to see what airline the physical plane has painted on. Some posts here seem to indicate the marketing carrier is the correct one. Anyone have experience that it is the marketing carrier not the operating carrier?
2. For the AY marketed and operated class = Y, fare basis = I segment, I am more confused. (This is an international business class ticket with a segment flown in economy.) The website says to look at "fare class." I am not sure if it is referring to the "class" or "fare basis" shown on the ticket. Contacting AS reps has not given a lot of clarity on whether to look at "class" or "fare basis," and in fact one agent went as far as to say it could go either way if they were manually crediting it and to hope it posts with the better earning way.
