Not sure if we’re here to talk about the resort or the other posters, but focusing on Kona Village, I’ve been very transparent with my own experience along with the experience of other guests I’ve booked, including one I clearly mentioned had a significant service gap that was unacceptable and I addressed it with the resort.
But knowing the other resorts in the area very intimately over 20 years of visits including 10+ years at Hulalalai, I’m not going to shy away from saying Kona Village, service gaps or not, is the clear leader on luxury resorts on the Big Island at present time when you look at the total package.
No, it’s not an Aman and doesn’t pretend to be one, but if you’re ok with the service quality at Hualalai, you’ll find service at KV no less, and likely better.
I’ve been a member of FT some 25 years and I’m not here to shill for one specific resort, especially given I have access to a portfolio of literally hundreds of 5* resorts around the world.
If others who have actually stayed at Kona Village recently, rather than just hearsay comments from those who may know others who work there, would come to the thread to share their own experiences, that would be ideal.
