A word of warning about Ameritrade:

If you're planning on doing a high volume of trades, Ameritrade makes it very difficult for you to generate your Schedule D at the end of the year. Most brokerages allow you to download your transactions into TurboTax, but Ameritrade does not. Instead, they try and sell you an additional service called GainsKeeper.
