Maybe worth noting in this thread (if it hasn’t been already) that upgrades using Avios on AARP discounted fares are very hit-or-miss.There are a few specific older threads on this, so just an FYI.

Just got caught up in this with an agent who wouldn’t upgrade J->F, and out of frustration/annoyance I just canceled the ticket as it was still within the 24hr grace period. Learned afterward that HUCA may work. Found decent full award options on *A so saving me a chunk of money and BA loses a J fare in the off season. :shrug:
