However, I believe from what you report that RUC clearance is still per-segment and ignores married inventory. In that case, all that matters is that DL501 had Z space alone (so you cleared) and DL428 did not (it was only Z1).

The RM curve computer sneezed last night, and 428 is now J9 D5 I5 Z0 alone, and apparently an analyst realized that there was still a connecting flight that DL was selling cheaply.

Looks like they did some major changes on my return flight and cancelled my original LAX-ATL leg - they'll rebook me directly into First on the new itinerary, right? Since I had already cleared? It's currently showing as Standby on the app and as Schedule Change on the browser. Looking like a win with a nicer aircraft (DL A350 vs originally LATAM config), shorter layover, and getting home an hour sooner...
