The sad truth is that everything today is about money. This is a pure cost-cutting measure.
PG delivers meal service to everyone on a 1 hour flight from BKK-USM. Their FAs are often getting into their jumpsuits mere minutes from landing. My bet is that their injury rate is no higher as a result.
