US-China flights are still less than a few hundreds flights a month. As of end of October it was 24 flights each direction per week! 4x weekly numbers give you the per month figure roughly.

Before The Great Plaque it was close to 3,500 flights a month…. It will take a lot longer than the wishful thinking here, sadly.
I'm not saying it's going to happen overnight. But the capacity is currently expanding, which is encouraging.
I also don't think we will see meaningful change until some of the heavily subsidised city-to-village routes restored, so that US-China travellers will have more direct options and won't compete with those lured to AS MP for CX (and JL) J/F as much. Hopefully that will happen soon(-ish) since the two overlords just had a chat in SF.
Right now I'm only left with wishful thinking because there are no J/F awards for me to burn my miles.
